UNC!

This operator transforms a vote proportion variable into an uncontestedness variable. Thus, if vote88 is the Democratic proportion of the two-party vote, UNC!vote88 takes on the values $-1$ for Republican uncontested, 0 for contested seats, and 1 for Democratic uncontested. Default values for each of these are vote88$<$0.05, 0.05$\leq$vote88$\leq$0.95, and vote88$>$0.95, respectively; these defaults can be changed with the UNC command.
